Project overview
The Coal Creek Drainage and Levee District protects farmland in the Illinois River valley in Schuyler County, across the river from Beardstown. When high water in 2023 damaged the district's levee, the district turned to the Corps' Public Law 84-99 Rehabilitation Program, which restores eligible flood-control works to their pre-flood level of protection.
The Rock Island District solicited the repairs as an invitation for bid set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and awarded SIS the contract in September 2024 with a performance period of 425 calendar days from notice to proceed.
